STUDENT ATHLETES: HOW TO ORDER TEXTBOOKS

STEP 1: ACCESS YOUR BOOKLIST

The first step to purchasing your course materials is to access your personal booklist through my.boisestate.edu. This list tells you which textbooks/course materials are required for your classes. You can purchase your books online directly through your booklist. To access your booklist, log in to your my.boisestate.edu account and click the "Buy My Textbooks" link. You will be taken to your booklist.

STEP 2: CHOOSE THE CORRECT/AUTHORIZED BOOKS TO ORDER

Your booklist is broken down into Required items, Alternate Required items, and Recommended items. As a student athlete with an eligible book scholarship, you are permitted to purchase Required and Alternate Required items ONLY.

  • REQUIRED: These books have been marked as required for the course by the professor. You are permitted to purchase required items.
  • ALTERNATE "ALT" REQUIRED: If two or more items are listed as "Alt Required", then you only need one of them, but not both. For example, you may see the same text listed as an ebook, as well as a hardback book. You can choose which version you prefer. You are permitted to purchase alternate-required items.
  • RECOMMENDED: These items are not required for the course, but are helpful resources to have (ex., barcharts). You are NOT permitted to purchase Recommended items under your athletic scholarship.
  • INCLUSIVE ACCESS MATERIAL: Required items listed as "INCLUSIVE ACCESS" materials are items that are delivered digitally to students at the start of the semester. The Bronco Shop will add Inclusive Access items to student athlete scholarship orders. DO NOT OPT OUT OF INCLUSIVE ACCESS MATERIALS UNLESS YOU HAVE OTHER MEANS OF OBTAINING THE MATERIALS.

When ordering your books, select any Required items, as well as any Alternate Required items you prefer. These will be added to your order.

STEP 3: CHECKOUT

After you have selected all needed textbooks/course materials, proceed to checkout. You must use your Boise State student email when purchasing textbooks. You must follow the steps listed below:

  1. Complete all contact info accurately.
  2. Select "Athletic Scholarship Pickup" as your SHIPPING METHOD. You will still be required to input a shipping address, but your order will be held for pick up at a designated location determined by the Athletics Department. NOTE: If you live out of state, you will contact your Athletics Advisor to see if you have the option to ship your books to you after they have been delivered to the Athletics Department.
  3. Input your billing address. You will not be charged for the order, but our system requires a billing address to be provided.
  4. PAYMENT METHOD: Select "ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP" as your payment type. Input your Student I.D., and click "Apply to My Order".
  5. The Scholarship will be applied to your order. If you receive an error, you may not have been approved by Athletics to have a book scholarship account. If this happens, contact broncoshopaccounts@boisestate.edu and CC kaitchase@boisestate.edu to receive confirmation on when/if your account will be available.
  6. Review your order and confirm everything is correct. Then, place your order.

STEP 4: WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Please allow 48-72 hours for our team to process your order. You will be contacted once your order is ready to pick up at the Student Union Bronco Shop.

Any unauthorized items (i.e., "recommended" items on your booklist) on an order will be removed from the order by the Bronco Shop. We will contact you if this happens. Any Inclusive Access charges will be added by the Bronco Shop (see below for more info).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you have only Inclusive Access item(s) on your booklist, you need to email broncoshopaccounts@boisestate.edu to inform them you have an Inclusive Access item; they will reach out to you to complete your order. If you have other items IN ADDITION to Inclusive Access item(s), simply complete the checkout process as usual. In that case, the Bronco Shop will add the IA item(s) to your order. DO NOT OPT OUT from IA materials unless you plan on getting the materials elsewhere. Read more about Inclusive Access here.

Many ebooks are provided as a scratch-off access code which you use to redeem your ebook online. These will come with your order in a pouch labeled "DO NOT DISCARD". However, if you ordered a RedShelf item, you will receive an email with your activation instructions. Search your inbox for "Redshelf" if you are having trouble locating your activation email.

Your order will be held for pickup at a location determined by the Athletics Department. Your order will not be held at the Bronco Shop. The Athletics Department will communicate on where to pick up your order.

If you are unable to pick up your books on campus, you must contact your Athletics Advisor to see if you are able to have your books shipped to you by the Athletics Department.
