📘 What is IA?
IA gives you digital course materials at a discount, up to 80% off print books. You’ll get access on or before the first day of class via Canvas.
🧭 How to Access Your Materials
- Log in to Canvas and open your course.
- In your course, IA materials will be available through a direct publisher link, the Modules tab, or the Assignments tab.
- For the few materials that need an access code, check your email for a message with the subject: “IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE BRONCO SHOP…”
🔁 Opting Out, or Back In
- You’re automatically opted in to IA.
- To opt out, visit your Student Booklist.
- The final Fall 2026 IA opt-out deadline is .
- Missed the deadline? No refunds are available.
- Opt-outs are refunded by Student Financial Services.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions
🔁 Am I automatically opted in?
Yes. If your course uses IA, you're automatically enrolled and charged. The fee appears in your Student Center as an e-textbook transaction.
❌ I don’t want IA. Can I opt out?
Yes, you can opt out through . If you do, you won’t be charged, but you’ll need to get the course materials on your own. Visit your Student Booklist, select the item, and follow the Opt-Out instructions.
✅ Can I opt back in later?
Yes, if it’s before the Fall 2026 opt-out deadline on . Use the link sent to your student email to opt back in. Use the Course Materials button in your Canvas course to access your materials. This will only be available until the add/drop date each semester.
❌ I dropped the course. Do I still need to opt out?
Yes. If you drop the course before the add/drop deadline, you need to opt out to ensure you won’t be charged. No refunds are given if you drop after the deadline.
💵 How do I pay for access?
It shows up as a textbook fee in your Student Center.
⏰ Do IA charges affect late fees?
No. Student Financial Services does not include IA fees when calculating late fees on your Student Center balance.
🎓 I have a scholarship. Can I use it for IA?
Yes, if your scholarship is eligible. Email broncoshopaccounts@boisestate.edu for help applying your scholarship to IA materials.
📭 I didn’t use the materials. Do I still have to pay?
Yes. If you're enrolled and didn't opt out before the deadline, you will be charged, even if you didn't access the materials.
📬 I didn’t get the IA email. Was one sent?
All IA students receive multiple emails. Check your spam folder, or search for “Bronco Shop” or “@verbasoftware.com.” Still missing? Contact textbookoffice@boisestate.edu.
🌐 I’m having trouble accessing my materials. What should I do?
Try clearing your cookies and cache, or switching browsers. Use these browser support instructions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
